    So is it me?

I just want to say thanks to everyone that has responded to this thread. I lost faith in this site about a year ago and decided I wasnt going to post here anymore. With everything going on I figured Id give it another chance and Im not disappointed.

    So is it me?

No sorry Legion , didnt make it clear. These were different circumstances. Just siting 2 different types of calls. Only the syncope was a actual call I had.

    So is it me?

Oh absolutely on the assessment. Im talking after that or when someone else calls for them ( MVA or person down ). Real life example : female went syncopal for 5-10 seconds , friends called. Arrived on scene , person is cao x 4 . Pt says " I feel fine , this has happened before, I sometimes...

    So is it me?

Meaning if the person feels fine , they probably are fine or If a body is dehydrated the person is probably going to want something to drink ( fluids ). Say the person has a broken bone and you want to give them morphine but they say "it really doesnt hurt that bad" they probably dont "need" the...

    So is it me?

As far as Iv's, Im decent on them im about a 80-85% average on getting them the first time. Im talking about puting Iv's in people that really dont need them. People that for all intents and purposes could probably be BLS if it wasnt for protocol. A 5 second syncopal patient that says im fine...

    So is it me?

Yea , my grammar is horrible, so's my spelling ,typing and all that fun edumacaton stuff , lol. Oh absolutely when it comes to experience as a medic i have zero. Wouldnt dispute that with anyone, same with knowledge. My thoughts are just that, thoughts. Im talking patients that really are ok...

    So is it me?

Ok , Im in the final stages of medic class ( 8 weeks to go ). The more I do clinicals the less I feel like I want to do the job. Ive been a EMT-B for 3 years and love my job. I basicly good at it ( not bragging ). As I run as a medic though I find myself questioning more and more why we do...

    medics with attitudes

I just realized something about this site. After reading multiple threads and their responses i see this isnt a site "for" all EMT's. Its more of a site that allows some people feel superior to others. I see no respect for others on this site, I just see a place for people to puff up their...

    medics with attitudes

there is no such thing as a absolute. In fact your right , my 72 y/o boss is a medic ( she keeps her cert up but doesnt touch patients she only drives ) so when a medic steps onto our rig there is technically 2 medics of board although all she does is take patient info and drive the rig. I work...

    medics with attitudes

No attitude here at all. I get along very well with every medic I work with. It seems that no one has bothered to read the previous post I have made. In my state there is no such thing as 2 medics on a rig period. Doesnt happen end of story. If it is a MICU there is a EMT_B and a medic...

    medics with attitudes

Doesnt happen like that in my state. Your either a MICU or in a chase truck by yourself. Our medics carry two heavy bags plus a monitor. They "can" carry it by themselves but not likely to. Again Id like to see a medic load a 300lb person in the back of a ambulance by themself. Just remember...

    medics with attitudes

In all truthfullness Medics need EMT-B's. Who does their grunt work? Who drives them ? Who gets them the things they need? Who does the lifting for them? Who carries all their bags? A medic can not do it on their own period. They either need an EMT or a Fire fighter. My job is to make their job...

    medics with attitudes

Luckly Ive never had to run with a paramedic with an attitude. Although I do know a few. Best way for a EMT-B to deal with them? Ignore them. If they have the attitude that a EMT-B is just a ambulance driver then be just a ambulance driver to them. I have no problem going to work and just...

    Whats Your Opinion ?

Today seems to have gone better. My super finally dropped it ( well atleast didnt say anything ) today. Had a call today that could have transported without the medic but thought better of it. He wasnt ( the medic ) to happy with the decision but I told him Im playing it safe from now on. I...
