Mine is going to the scene and having people pull out in front of you, or refuse to give the right of way. Makes me want to install a cow catcher and video dash cam...... I also hate having to move furniture to get someone out of the house and having folks get upset about it.

CRKT M-16. None of that serated edge stuff either. Just a regular blade. In my EMS work, we do a fair amount of cave/wilderness rescue type stuff. Not to mention farms..... Anywho a knife has been used to cut webbing rope, and making PB&J sandwiches.

I'd recommend crisis mental health services too. Make sure the folks have training from NOVA or ICISF.

Used to driving a 3/4 ton truck, crew cab, so the transition for me was minimal. Also I think rural EMS has it a bit easier (We are about a rural as you can get. i.e. more cows per square mile than people) in that we have more space to drive in than the urban ambulance monkey.

Sounds like you checked her vitals and made sure she wasn't crashing. So why cause needless pain? Monitor and transport. Better for her, better for you and if the E.R. folks don't like it, they can give her the Narcan. BTW. In our area we are getting quite a few overdoses with Fentanyl...

Ditto on the range time. I also enjoy spending time with my kids. My daugther loves fishing and just getting out with her for a few hours restores my sanity. There is something really healing when one of your kids gives you a hug and tells you that they love you.

Besides the commercial flotation that can be added to SKED, Backboards, and such for patient movement. In a pinch the cheap 'float noodles' that kids love playing with can be strapped to a board and secured (MAN I love Duct Tape!) to keep a patient floating.
