Just an FYI you might want to do some more research and ask a few more questions. I got off the phone with the EMS agency licensing section at WA DOH and they said they have not heard of Emerald City Ambulance and they don't currently have an EMS license in Washington State. It sounds like it's...
There is probably enough business to go around however I imagine it will be hard for a small start up to gain any traction in this area. I remember when Pro-Transport 1 tried to do a start up in this area without doing their homework first and that lasted all of what 6 months?
Just saw this ad on Craigslist:

Has anyone heard about this company or know anything about this start up?
Pierce County, WA requires them on all trucks BLS and ALS. There's like one place on earth you can buy them from and when you do they always say "ah you must be from Pierce County!"
Falck NW
From what I understand from several friends who work there Falck NW is going to change (for the better) the private ambulance industry in the pacific northwest. They are raising the bar and making a huge impression on the market. I was told by a friend at "another company" that Falck...
Do your research first...
No offense Mr. [removed], but there is a reason that 30% of Rural/Metro’s workforce just quit and went to a competitor. The company is run by two managers who have no college education let alone degrees and simply do not know how to run a business. Not to mention...

I am glad I am not the only one who feels the way you do. I work primarily in the county to the north of the one you mention however the culture there is quite similar. Unfortunately I think what it boils down to is no matter how many good reasons we come up with for why this practice is...
It is offered occassionally in Snohomish County (Gold Bar) but usually it's an in-house course offered by district 26 for it's personnel and not open to outside providers.
Good Luck
Many ER's are cutting ER tech positions. Like others have said you are not likely to get a tech job without ER experience let alone field experience. I've been there done that and I was not a big fan of cleaning up poop and the "mother may I" system. It's annoying having to ask...
Others here have some really good advice. Unfortunately for someone wanting to jump in get into the business it's just not that easy. I wish there was a way to filter out the people who truly want to do this from the people who do it because they can. Perhaps that would improve salary and...
