Did this warrant Lights and Sirens?
considering the VS I would most definitely run lights and sirens. Depending on distance/traffic to the hospital I would've called for ALS intercept, but not waste any time just waiting for them. I've seen pts with BLG in the 400's go into DKA, plus that temp.... that temp is just horrid. And... -

EMT drop out?
my class started out with 18 students, by the second semester we only had 8 (all dropped-out), at graduation there were 6 of us. We graduated in May and only myself and one other person out of my class have actually taken and passed the NREMT and are licensed. Only 2 of the others have taken it... -

Ever treat a 4 legged patient??
Before I went to school to get my EMT cert I went for Vet Tech and worked at an animal hospital. I couldn't keep up with the job because I am way too soft hearted with animals than people. But amazingly, when I took my vet tech classes we had to learn human anatomy before animal anatomy to see... -

Locking Ambulances
we leave our units running everywhere and unlocked. The only time anythings happened would be at the hospital when another unit would move ours down the road, but we would always mess with them and get them back for it -

My BIGGEST pet peeves
one of my partners would throw every bit of trash on the floor and leave it there aaaalllllllllll day long. It would tick me off. I'm fine if its a code or something, but other than that its just as easy to put it in a neat little pile or even the trash instead of throwing it all over the floor... -

I took my Basic yesterday, stopped at 86 and I passed! :)
