    EMT patch on Job shirt

I think I'll take the suggestion of the pins on the collar for now. When I finally get my medic, sounds like the best option is to put paramedic under my name.

    EMT patch on Job shirt

Keep in mind this isn't like a button down shirt. It's one of the tru spec sweatshirt/pullover thing with the 1/4 zip. I do like the ideas some of you are putting out there, so I appreciate it.

    EMT patch on Job shirt

I have seen this one before, however, from what I have heard, it is no longer used. I believe the story was that was the patch used when EMS fell under the department of public safety, up until 10 or so years. It was then split up so state patrol and police got seperate departments, and they put...

    EMT patch on Job shirt

Not OKCFD. I'm up in nebraska, where there is no state patch for EMS. At least not one i've found or ever seen across the state, even in the two large metro areas of NE.

they are very good at what they do, and some are even very competent EMTs/Paramedics, they just dont enjoy it. Luckily we have a large amount of EMS only personnel, readily available to supplement in. However, it's just like what they say: 200 years of tradition, unhampered by progress.

    EMT patch on Job shirt

@Trashtalk, I do not NEED to identify myself as EMS, but I would like to. Our department is set up into Fire/EMS and EMS only. Most of the fire guys want nothing to do with the EMS (let alone putting it on their job shirts), and kick it over to the EMS only personnel. I am passionate about both...

    EMT patch on Job shirt

I wasn't looking for criticism or fashion advice, like I mentioned, I was just looking for placement ideas. Thank you n7lxi. I like the idea of having my name, then EMT. The thought never occured to me.

    EMT patch on Job shirt

Hey fire guys with job shirts, quick question. I am trying to figure out placement on my NREMT patch for a custom job shirt i'm ordering for my fire dept. The standard format is this: Right shoulder: Flag Left shoulder: dept. Patch Right Chest: last name embroidered Left chest: Dept. Logo...

    Creighton

Sorry I was mistaken. I was under the impression you were just entering college. Now that I know you already have your bachelors, yes, it is a great program. I have two friends in the masters program now that went through their BS there as well. They say that the MS is a great program, since...

    Creighton

I went through creighton's EMT program just in the last year, and with any luck, will continue through paramedic starting in just a few months. As for the overall EMS program, it is hands down, the best in the area. However, I myself have looked into the MS EMS. All I can say about it is that if...

    Emt b

BLS is not strictly the private, IFT business. There are many 911 systems where the ambulances are only BLS, and private contractors are brough in for ALS. For example, a fire dept may run only BLS, but call a private like AMR for anything beyond that. Looking at your location of the detroit...

Good EMT and Paramedic School in Saint Louis, MO

No problem. It sounds like you found a school that will be great for you in IMH academy. Better to pay for it now in cash than later in stress (and usually more cash). I wish you the best of luck in school!

Good EMT and Paramedic School in Saint Louis, MO

STRONGLY AGREE!!! While the minimum curriculum is the same for most classes, the good ones will go far above and beyond. My personal experience has been this: I chose to pay for the 'good' program in the area, which not only was much more expensive than the price of the other program, but the...

BLS Skills -- What Should We Add?

Some areas have the option for an EMT to get an IV cert, but you'll be hard pressed to find an employer that allows it, unless you work primarily rural. Also, when it comes to cardiac rhythms, there is nothing saying you can't learn it as a B. Now while you wont be able to act according to the...

    EMS as a stepping stone

yes, sorry. That's what I was trying to say, I guess it was just too late for me. Busy medic unit, then slow down as a possible driver/engineer. But i'm only 18, so the options will more than likely change during my next 40-50 years.
