In Jackson, MS people here are waiting in line for hours and hours just hoping that a station will open so that they might be able to get some gas, but Police Fire and Ambulances can get it at a few stations that are closed to the public. Gonna get worse before it gets better is my bet. Chris

Looks like it is going to get really bad for New Orleans and MS gulf coast all the way to Pensacola. I live and work in Jackson, MS and we have sent 6 trucks and a few wheel chair vans to MS coast to help evacuate. looks like we are in for a rough couple of days.

Thanks for asking Jon. I live and work in Jackson, MS and surrounding counties. I have been a basic for about 1yr. in law enforcement before I started EMS. Spent the last yr. of my life working as a basic for pennies, trying to stretch a paycheck and get all the overtime shifts I can get. lol...

Just started my medic class too... We also are learning IV's and Intubation right off the bat so that we can start clinicals. We are also going very very fast paced, 1yr. from basic to medic as my state doesn't even recognize EMT-I's anymore. Hope I can keep up. Good luck to you in your class...

In MS, at my service we only have ALS response, but basics and medics can use med control. However, we must continue cpr and work the code (once it is started) unless med control gives us the order to stop.
