I have a pair in my turn-out pocket, and in my brush pants poket, and I hardly ever use them because theres always a few in the trauma box, same reason I never carry a fanny pack on scene. I do in my pov though just in case I need anything but not at work.
Hear that it is a good course, like all you get out of it what you want. I will be taking it soon while finishing my prereq's for my medic to rn bridge. Just more info which wil help in my career ff/pm, and my side career/retirement job nursing.
I have had a recent surge in Spice related calls. After smoking the usually get an elevated HR, sudden onset of anxiety and nausea. BP usually runs Hyper but has seen some Hypo but most likely due to severe vomiting....Users tent to say it makes them spin, feel anxious and hallucinate. IV, 02...
Because you know the job requires both fire and ems and you want to be able to serve the community with the highest level of training and care in all aspects of thejob. You are equally dedicated to your medical care as you are you firefighting and rescue duties.
I am very lucky in my system on our mct's we have pretty good info on most calls regarding approx pt numbers and number of vehicles. We are dispatched based on the 911 info. All engines are ALS and most ladders are as well. All MVA's on a highway/freeway gets BC, Eng and rescue (ambo), rollovers...
Excellent post. I agree 100% with pain management and being aggressive with it. I remember being an EMT and treating a guy with multiple but not critical gunshot wounds and the medics on scene were concerned with shock and all kinds of other stuff because the guy was sweaty, rapid HR etc. Flight...
screw a HALIGAN interior doors will always lose to a foot either straight push kick or donkey kick. And in reality no cop would wait for fire/ems to arrive to bust the door. They love that stuff
68w and Corpsman is basically the same. You can get a braoader scope opf training in the navy but greenside corpsmen and 68w's in combat units are the same thing. One just is the :censored::censored::censored::censored: with the army grunts other with Marines grunts.
do you want to ride...
Also miltary ems is different in many ways and if you are unsure about it, why? What turns you off about the military? If you go Army you can be assigned to any number of units from line units, cash, evac, there is a huge list. You will carry a weapon and you will need to fire it at times. And...
If you are running the PT in BLS then I do not think it is that big of a deal, getting the PT to definitive care is the big issue, plus if you find an irregularity you wont have time to treat it.
With that said I get at least a 4 lead on pretty much everyone. Also pt may not need an IV if...
I rarely have to call for anything. My anaphylaxis protocol is .3-.5 IM if not responsive begin a drip.
Asthma is duoneb, then epi IM, Solu-medrol and option for Mag if still non responsive. Can use SVN, In line SVN with BVM, inline with CPAP if needed, and of course in line with bvm via...
Do you mind me asking what Dept and I may be able to help you out with info. I know someone from pretty much every dept around lol. It's a small community and Congrats. Depts with reserve programs allow you to prove yourself instead of having to win the test/interview lottery like other places.
