    Looking for some direction...

I agree with narcan, and I'd strongly caution you about going into medic school without any experience as a B. Get some good solid BLS experience and you'll be a much better medic. Good luck!

    Dealing with Death

Seriously?? Completely inappropriate for a "forum deputy chief". Not sure how you're used to treating people down in new zealand... but in AMERICA we like to show a little respect. But then again there's nothing but sheep down there anyway...

    Dealing with Death

It absolutely disgusts me to see you talk to a fellow ems provider like this. Here's a guy who was humble enough and though enough of this forum to bring forth a valid problem, and you guys are calling him a troll (whatever that means) telling him to get out of the business?? Way to help a...

    Dealing with Death

Maybe you could try working on your skills a little man, I know this is a tough time for you, but the truth is you'll have better success rates if you can give meds or control ventilation sooner. I've learned some good tricks over the years, feel free to pm me and I'd be glad to help if I can

having a hard time getting work as an emt, should i just start the medic process?

Haha ok Aj... as a retiree and long time poster on this sight I'm sure it is hard to hear that you are wrong. We do have a very high volume, and because of that we are able to one of the national leaders in ems research and development. We run one of the most high performance systems in the...

having a hard time getting work as an emt, should i just start the medic process?

80,000 calls a year, per capita the highest volume in the US. I'm sorry that all of you are so misinformed/had bad experiences/whatever the case may be, but you're still wrong. If you have well trained emt's who are taught correctly (like ours), they make exceptional medics, and much better...

    Gasoline powered Ford E-450

We just got four new E-450 gas chassies, replacing the diesels about 2 a year. I agree with the above, but honestly the diesels didn't get much better mpg... especially the 6.0 powerstrokes. Theyre quiet, accelerate nicely, and are pretty comfortable. I can't imagine he gas will last as long as...

having a hard time getting work as an emt, should i just start the medic process?

Haha not at all... but requiring six months of experience as a B is a step in the right direction.

having a hard time getting work as an emt, should i just start the medic process?

The left coast doesn't do much right, but that I agree with.

having a hard time getting work as an emt, should i just start the medic process?

Absolutely not. As a sgt. In a high performance system you can absolutely tell the difference between a medic who worked as a B first and one who went straight through school. AT BEST you get a book smart medic with no street experience. Maybe you can BS your way as an inexperienced medic in a...
