I left EMS full time in 2015 for a career on the railroad. When I left EMS, medics were making less than $17 an hour. It was hard to support a family back then. I have maintained my license and kept as aware as I could of all the latest trends and practices. The railroad is sometimes an insecure job, and I know at anytime I could be back in the ambulance. Thankfully now, wages have risen. Not gonna lie, I miss it.
