I am a recent Mt Sac graduate. It's a tough course, don't get me wrong. Hopefully all paramedic courses are, perhaps with the exception of PTI. It's only 4 days a week, since you get Weds off. The teachers are all great. Yea, you hear stories about how terrifying Steve Williams is. And sure...

I hear the new protocols allow for a sushi bolus of 10 grams/kg. As a standing order! You have to make base for wasabi though. And for good reason. :lol:

If pancakes are ineffective, consider waffle bolus of 1 waffle/15kg. May administer 1 gram of butter to aid mastication.

Am I a bad enough dude to post late at night too? Anyways, I have a skills test/interview on Weds for a medic spot with AMR Palm Springs. Pretty jazzed! Just slightly nervous. And possibly a little hungry.

Irwindale is not a bad division at all. I enjoyed it there. And the best part is once you've worked 6 months at AMR you can transfer to any AMR division in any state if they have openings! County fire seemed to like us. Had a few run ins because they can be pretty bone-headed sometimes, but...

That just looks like a list of companies in Orange County. There's too few companies listed for it to be LA county :D

Shifts are 24 hour shifts on the Kelley schedule, so you work about 10 days a month, which isn't too bad. There are a few 12 hour shifts, but the majority are 24's. All the 24's are based out of stations, which are pretty new, and not too bad either. Recliner's, TV's, showers, fridge, pantry...

You know there's AMR Irwindale, which is.....well right next to Azusa haha. You don't have to drive up to Santa Clarita/Lancaster! And judging by what I've heard about Care/Schaefer/McCormick, AMR will treat you better.

I'm actually going through Mt Sac's program right now. Only about 2 or so weeks until I'm finished with didactic. It's pretty cheap. And actually quite a few of the students are from Orange County. If you have any more questions, just ask! I'll do the best I can to help you.
