Tough one. I agree that was a tough call. One of two different things or a combination of both could have been occuring. I think you did the right thing.

TK use I know BLS, I know the rules. But they do say at a certain scope of practice that the tourniqet can be loosened gently / reevaluated even for the benefit of future needed CMS. I know in the past I have found Tourniquets some that were detrimental, some that had not really been need...

KVO drip rates My facility typically runs 30ml/H but I often wonder for someone that has CHF / pulmonary edema and is running KVO over days / weeks if even this small amt is too much. Been keeping my older pt's that are KVO at about 10mL/H. But thats just me.
