rock on, we have an employee with us out here from cali. when she first got on the trucks, most of the medics were mad cause she was used to the cali SOP and not ours where we are. she wouldn't do much at first cause she wasn't sure what she could and couldn't do. she's much better now...nice...
one of the benefits of working EMS in texas is that the physician sets the standard of care in allowing what you can and can't do. the physician that we work under, allows us to "to practice medicine" and stray from the COGs a bit.

i do agree with you and yes i do understand what you are saying. i have been through paramedic and have been on the street for 8 yrs. my point was look at the underlying problem in certain situations. if the pt is gonna fight ya don't push the issue. if the pt needs it and will tolerate it...

if you do have your boot on the floor, use your toe and not the whole foot. i usually rest their arm on my leg. some people use super fancy bells and stuff, the cheap Stethoscope works for me. i have a good one but i can't hear a damn thing out of it.
