I'm not in either one , paid or volunteer . I'm training to get into the academy , and I already workout, and do all the other stuff .

If I don't wear it when I workout then how am I ever gonna get used to being able to move around in it and being able to wear it . . and I used to train a lot harder then I am now .

I have been training really hard for Firefighting I have my own gear , the only thing I'm missing is an air pack, can anyone tell me about how much an air pack weighs ? I have been going running/walking fully geared and my friend who works at a station told me that since I don't have an air pack...

I'm not as nervous about EMT school as I am Firefighting, I'm going to one of the hardest schools in Florida and I'm just a little 100 pound girl lol. I have been doing a lot of training though. well thanks for all of your help !

thanks guys ! I can't wait to start school I have wanted this for about 6 years now and have overcome so much to get where I'm at today . Has anyone ever heard of The Florida State Fire Academy located in Ocala ?

Hi my name is Michelle I'm starting school March 24th for EMT , then leaving in July for the fire academy, and after that I want to do medic .

I am starting EMT school in March this will be my first time attending any kind of class other than high school , I have to try to work 2 jobs and do schooling my friends think I'm setting myself up for failure , any advice ?
