I am going to be moving to Iowa most likely the Des Monies area. Does any one know where a good place to work at there or closed to Des Monies. I am a EMT-B for the past 10 year in Cali.

All the 911 ambulance companies in the south bay are union. The only other union company that is not 911 is AMR.

I know for a fact I use to work for them. Thing are getting better now that AMR is back. They still have alot of shifts to fill. Alot of people are happy AMR is back. Others are not. but i think for the EMS its better top have AMR a bigger ambulance company that has more backing in a county that...

Westmed knew what they were getting in to. They knew all the numbers and stats. They bought all brand new equipment and ambulances. The number of ambulances that had could not cover the county very well. Westmed way under bid what they needed for the county.

It has alot to do with where you work and what kind of dispatching. At a private BLS company they have less stress and easy job load. With 911 dispatching there is alot of stress and dealing with people who need real help. Most BLS companies are around $11 but 911 are around $19.
