Its a combination dept. Medics are full time. Not sure if they hire basics at all. From people I have known that work there they pay pretty well

As a side note to work on a private ambulance in Houston you also have to have a permit from the city. Last time I looked it was around $130.

If your a basic you can look at the ERs. Some security companies hire basics for plant jobs. There is off shore and overseas contracts but that requires paramedic and usually experience.

Dont know much about La Porte, never heard anything bad about them though.
