what Knife do you carry on duty?

Never have come across the need for a knife. Trauma shears do just about everything I need.

How many of you carry a traumma bag in your POV

You basically nailed it. Work within your scope if you made the decision to stop and help. Immediate life threats like stopping bleeding and giving compressions for cardiac arrest. Things I am wary of doing off duty would be airway management beyond headtilt - chinlift like OPA/NPA. I have...

How many of you carry a traumma bag in your POV

It's a sad state of affairs when potential legal problems interfere with patient care. Sad but true. I have no markings, never will. It's absolutely unnecessary. I have a bag I keep stocked with BLS equipment, a very small bag. That said, it would have to be an extreme situation for me...

    Your calls and social media

    1. Doesn't look like I claimed it was 2. It if was a punch it was uncalled for. You can't tell from the video, all you see is the police officer get close and then the camera is waved around and the guy goes "whooaaaa" or something. 3. Didn't say anything to the tune of "there's no bad or...

    Your calls and social media

Not speaking to this specific video, but people never seem to take into account the police officers position. A job where you are called to deal with violent people, all of whom are potentially armed with things from dirty needles, knives, up to guns -- people standing around encircling you...

    Your calls and social media

If they don't get in the way it's not what I am paid to worry about. Personally I have some issues with them violating privacy, perhaps, but that's also not for me to decide.

    Firearms for EMS

Living in Arizona, well, I have no problem with it. Though I may be jaded by my states complete lack of concern for people with guns. As for having them issued, I don't know, maybe? That's more expensive for companies who already don't like spending. From a "oh but is it safe?!!!!" stand...

    What would you say?

Would have said nothing, maybe shrugged. That's assuming what he said even registered in my brain at all. Most of what I hear goes into deep storage if it doesn't have keywords in it I am looking for.

    Traffic Stopped!

My father was a FF/Paramedic. I can't even begin to count how many times as a kid he'd he'd be speeding, get pulled over, and when the officer got to the car he'd look in and go "oh god damnit *dads name*, get out of here, try to take it easy" ...

    All the bells and whistles...REALLY?

Meh, I can't see doing that myself, but I wouldn't be bothered if someone I worked with did.
