With the proper training, yes, of course. It takes 12 weeks to become a police officer. No disrespect to LEO's, but 12 weeks translates into EMT-B for us. I'm tired of hearing about EMS providers getting stabbed and shot.

Warm saline IV if your ambulance has a warmer. (we have a fridge as well for cold NS). Get them in the box, warm oxygen, warm packs on neck, groin, and armpits. Consider wrapping their 02 tubing around your core if not in the ambulance. You should not use BP cuffs as it can damage cold tissue.

Actually, I'm right. Vol II (the assessment volume) of the newest Brady paramedic books makes absolutely no mention of auscultation of lung sounds during the initial assessment, only to recognize inadequate breathing and if so, enter a rapid trauma assessment (which DOES involve auscultation)...

I would not auscultate breath sounds during the initial assessment, I would simply ensure ventilation and administer oxygen if labored. I will be reaching my head-to-toe assessment in 20 seconds and will auscultate then.

That's exactly what this thread is about... the poster is asking us for advice regarding his classmates that have so little integrity they begin cheating as soon as the teacher walks away. His classmates will not somehow gain integrity via osmosis after he turns them in. It won't solve...

I disagree. The poster is responsible for his patients. His cheating classmates must jump through several hoops before they are given the responsibility of patient care, namely a written/practical and a hiring process somewhere. These two hurdles are meant to filter out undesirables. YOU are...
