I don't have EMT partners. I work in a system that's 2 Medic per truck. Also, the EMTs that I do PRECEPT, learn a lot and are never demeaned. In the words of my DI, "Do I know you? Do I owe you money? Then don't talk to me!"

I really think it depends on the employer. I know of a guy who had his conditional offer rescinded after a DWI, and got the job a year later. And that was a Fire Dept

What I'm talking about are medics who are usually mediocre, who secretly harbor a desire to be in a cruiser, who play with cops. They are unarmed (at least they won't admit to carrying) and are so obsessed by their "additional duty" as a tactical medic that very little else matters.
