Has anyone had any confusion with HR departments or non EMS employers because the new Paramedic abbreviation is the same as the national neonatal resuscitation program? Does anyone know if the national neonatal resuscitation program will be changing their abbreviation?

I just put down that I'm a "Paramedic" and note that I'm "certified in NC and Nationally Registered". I then give my certification numbers and expiration dates. The one place which puts it on our badge apparently may not make the change.

It's going to be some other nonsense couple of years from now, like the name change really matters? Most hospital staff don't know the difference between EMT and Paramedic let alone registry nomenclature lol.

I would use, "Nationaly Registered Paramedic". And just forego using the acronym, "NRP".

No confusion that way.
