Hey everybody!

Names Jaryd. New to the site and EMS. Some would say I'm still green. Got my NREMT about a year ago and have been working AMR for just about the same amount of time. Still in school trying to an AA in something...havent really figured that out yet. Still young i suppose. As you may have guessed, I dont really know what I wanna do later in life. Toss up between ER physician and Paramedic/Firefighter. Seeing as where i live in LA,CA the fire department have a 4 year freeze on cadets, looks like school it is. Ride out with the local FD whenever i can to get 911 experience. Other than that, I dont know what else to say. If you have any questions, or if i didnt cover something..shoot me a pm or respond here and Ill answer. other than that...see you around

alright. first call EVER as an emt. we get a call for unknown medical. So as the attending, i hop out first as my partner grabs the gurney. I walk in to find a male sitting on the couch acting apprehensive. Tapping his hands on his knees and looking around. I knelt beside him and said

Me: Hi, my name is Jaryd, Im an emt, what seems to be the problem today.
Him: Uhm, can we just go to the hospital? I just wanna go now
Me: Sir, we will go as soon and i find out what's going on. Are you in pain, what's bothering you today?
him: It's really embarrassing, I don't wanna talk about it.
me: Sir, nothing is too embarrassing for me. I promise I'm not gonna tell anyone
him: Okay, so my boyfriend is out of town and I was playing with some vegetables and i lost one

i didnt even know how to respond to that.

cc was rectal pain. and it was such a warm and inviting welcome. The very next call was pretty hilarious too.

ok second call. 88 y/o male. i got there and he was sitting on his bed. put him on HF 02. While questioning him he told me that he had just gotten done ******* his wife and he hadnt done it in years. But his PMD just gave him some viagra. so he tried it. He was sooo happy but in so much pain. en route..he demanded a high five. so i gave it to him. why not
