Thread idea started from LD transfer thread in BLS forum

How much does your area charge for transports in general.

When I was in Indiana it was $400-600 for BLS, $650-800 for ALS, and $10.25 a mile. there was some variance from private to public services (those were private rates).

here in Utah according to the state website; the prices are about the same, except for the mileage: mileage is $35.00 a mile, unless you have to go off onto a gravel or dirt road for more than 1 mile, then it is $45.00 a mile.

where I work, we charge $250 flat fee, no mileage: and our closest hospital is 39 miles away, over a mountain pass; average of 40-45 minutes 1 way.

I worked in the billing office at my company in high school as an intern, we had itemized billing consisting of $85 for showing up, 8.50/mile plus all supplies were itemized. This was 5 years ago and I don't know if they're still doing it that way, last rumor I heard was that medicare didn't want itemized bills anymore they would only pay flat rate per call (maybe plus mileage I don't remember).
