Not really in the market right now, but possibly in the near future. Just curious if anyone kept tabs on their respective companies CCT program. Who might have the greenest grass on the other side? Who has the happiest nurses?

**Someone will probably plug Hall so I'll just say I'm already planning to apply when I have enough experience.

Other than Hall, most SoCal CCT programs are about the same (unless you're considering air). They all more or less run dual EMT and put you in the back of a normal ambulance.

Most CCT RNs are used to transfer relatively mundane transports that paramedics aren't allowed to do in California. Things like doctor's appointments with a vent patient, or a TPN drip. Heparin is bread and butter for many CCT transports.

Hall is the only CAMTS accredited ground CCT program in the area that I'm aware of. You'll have a seat in the cab of a special built ambulance and work with a medic and EMT rather than 2 EMTs.

That's not to say everything is peachy at Hall either. Complaints from nurses are not in short supply, and nurse turnover is greater than that of EMTs and medics.

What issues are contributing to nurse turnover? The mundane is why I’d consider applying, and commuting to Hall

Hall does plenty of mundane too. It's not different there as the paramedics are still limited. The only difference with Hall is the opportunity to run 911 calls as a nurse.

From what I recall, pay was a major factor. Scheduling was another.

I bounced around companies in LA/OC from 09 to 2018 and have since moved out of state. Does anyone in LA/OC run a put together CCT program like Bowers/Pacific did back in the day or is that a thing of the past? If so, who are the new players?

When I punched out in 2018 Doctors had a haphazardly run CCT program. Lynch didn’t have nurses and was just beginning to fumble their medic program.

PRN Ambulance in LA. Nurses make $46/hr plus $9/hr more if you do night shifts. 10-11hr shifts, per diem available. Mainly Kaiser contract, good amount of code 3's going from Kaisers to trauma/neuro/stroke/stemi. Also get the normal vent dr appointments, etc

I have to agree, PRN is very well run at the moment barring a few hiccups here and there. Almost all the CCT calls I ran with them are from or to Kaiser (or KP affiliated) hospitals. Call bonus if you run more than 3 calls as well per call. Some shifts you will get 3-4 patients, some dispatch will give you an ALS or BLS with a trach call due to there not being any calls at all.
