Whos Hiring in the Bay/Sorrounding Areas?

AMR and R/M both hire under 21. Also keep an eye out on craigslist. I know that sounds weird, but some ambulance companies post jobs on craigslist for EMT's. I actually got a weekend EMT job which I found on craigslist.

Whos Hiring in the Bay/Sorrounding Areas?

Yeah. Go to their website, go to the "more" link, then "join our team" , go to EMT and go down to apply. Just upload your resume and info. I had trouble entering my phone number into the phone number field, so just make sure its on your resume or also place it in the text field.

Whos Hiring in the Bay/Sorrounding Areas?

It was all BLS transport. When a shift would start, would just look at the runs we had planned for the day, check the rig, and go out to our first scheduled call. Pick up pt, take them where they needed to go. They do get code 2 calls there, I never ran on any code 2 calls, but they do get...

Whos Hiring in the Bay/Sorrounding Areas?

I'm pretty sure they don't. It's usually an insurance thing. But Cabulance took me at 19, so I don't see why they wouldn't take you at 18.

They will still hire you if you are 18.

Whos Hiring in the Bay/Sorrounding Areas?

If you don't mind doing wheelchair van, and car transport along with working on a BLS rig, Cabulance Comfort always hires. I think Falcon CCT is hiring again too.

    Emergencies or Transport

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I've been looking at it from one point of view this whole time. I did my ridealongs in emt school with a 911 agency, so all of my exposure to ems prior to this job was from a 911 point of view. I didn't have transport exposure till now. So when...

    First call as EMT-B

I know how you feel. Reading all these posts makes me jealous as well, my first call (happened last month) was basically the same as yours, just different age. 78 y.o male ESRD transporting from SNF to Dialysis Facility <_<

    Emergencies or Transport

I just started with a BLS company. Majority of our IFT's are from SNF's to Dialysis facilities. On occasion we get called to take 5150's to a psych facility, and the occasional code 2 emergency at a nursing home, but other than that its all dialysis runs. I haven't run a 5150 or a code 2...

    Emergencies or Transport

Thanks for all the info Island Medic! I am on a BLS IFT rig right now, I have an interview with a CCT company soon. I won't be starting out on CCT, I will still be doing BLS IFT for a while, but I definitely would love to move into CCT once I have payed my dues on a BLS rig. Just wanted more...

    the 100% directionless thread

Where I work now we don't even have radios, we get dispatched via text, and we text in to get our call times. We text: enroute, on scene, depart scene, arrival. We pull our call times for our PCRs from the cell phone.

    EMT apps or books?

Is it a Paramedicine degree program? Any how good luck! and you gotta hit the books no matter how bad it sucks! It really will pay off. I don't know about you, but once I started my EMT course I loved reading my textbook, I knew it was all information that would only make me a better EMT.

    Emergencies or Transport

What kind of things would an EMT assisting an RN do on a CCT rig?

    Emergencies or Transport

The company I have an interview with staff their CCT rigs with two EMTs and an RN. So I guess one of the EMTs would be assisting the RN? Is that not how it usually is on CCT rigs?

    Emergencies or Transport

Sorry for my newbie question but what is working CCT like? and anybody have any interesting experiences doing BLS IFT? I am asking because I am in my first EMT job and all we do is BLS IFT, but another company I'd like to get on with does BLS IFT AND CCT, and I'd like to maybe get on the CCT...

    How often do you workout?

I used to work out 3 to 4 times a week for at least an hour each time. However I just started my first job as EMT, and for the past two weeks I have been having a hard time getting myself to workout  I supposed I just need to get into the routine again, especially with this new job...

    EMT apps or books?

I just finished my EMT course a little more than a month ago. I enjoy reading, but when it comes to schooling, I hate reading. However reading in my EMT course really payed off. I would agree with everyone else, using the EMT apps is good to supplement what you study in the books. I...

    Is all experience equal?

This is just my personal opinion, but I would hold off and wait for a good EMT job where you can get some experience. Even if its just BLS transport, you'll still do assessments, write PCR's , get vitals, etc. This company doesn't sound like a BLS company to me, right? You have a job now, so...

    Wanna Be

When I did my ride-alongs for my EMT class it really solidified my decision to pursue a career in EMS/Public Service. I am yet to really experience much, all I have done is 72 hours with a 911 Ambulance for my ride-alongs. I just finished school, and I just got hired on with a private ambulance...

Getting my EMT training in Cali, wondering about education playing into getting a job

Having college education always helps. Is it needed for an EMT job? no, but does it look good? Of course! What do you plan on getting your degree in? Why not do both? Thats what I did. I am currently working on my associates degree, and I just finished EMT school. I am gonna work while I...
