Post the # your test stopped at, and if you Passed/Failed

72 I think and passed. I had doubts about whether I got only three questions right but checked in the parking lot. As far as I know, I got them all right. I could identify at least one question that was a experimental question. It was vague and did not have enough detail. I doubt it was...

What are some good EMT jobs during the summer for a college student?

I have more than thirty years of experience and if I have an attitude they would need to interview me to detect that, wouldn't they? Talk about attitude! I am guessing you are quite young and proud of the way you look in blue. Oh...my resume is two pages long and contains work as a provider...

    Temporary work with housing...

I have seen a bunch on Facebook, but of course I did not need it at the time. I was once registered with a company that places med techs in such a manner, but i registered as a phlebotomist. I doubt they would do EMTs since they mostly place with hospitals. Maybe an ER tech though?

    Traveling paramedic?

I do not know exactly what you mean by traveling, but if you mean interstate than I would think licensing would inhibit this There are companies that try to find med techs work long distance but I do not know if they do medics. Alaska has a great deal of jobs for rural (VERY rural!) paramedics...

    Temporary work with housing...

Folks, at times I have seen on Facebook a variety of squads seeking personnel for a limited time, usually one to three months while offering housing. This is exactly the kind of work I am seeking. I am often in need of employment for up to six months, but summer is generally a well paid gig that...

What are some good EMT jobs during the summer for a college student?

No, my background is clear as I have checked it, although my name is common and I used to get mail for a guy in prison with the same name. I think mostly the companies for site work have chosen to go with a nurse (real clever move for places that have a pile of trauma) or have decided someone...

What are some good EMT jobs during the summer for a college student?

You will probably need some experience of some kind. If you go with ER, simply do not mention that you will leave. Do you think that employers will break their back to give a damn about you? The number of times I have been offered employment only to have the offer disappear is not readily...

what Knife do you carry on duty?

The blade shape is ideal but the price!!! Yes, the jokes about PB&J are right. Mostly you will use it to make lunch. I use mine a lot when working in places like summer camps to open supplies and boxes, mail, etc. It helps not to have something that looks sinister since sometimes the patients...

    boots and pants

One of the services I work for will allow no coat or shirt that they have not provided...you CANNOT buy your own. I leave you to imagine the issues this creates as you get two shirts every couple years (mostly if you become a pain). I have two short sleeve shirts and two pants...period. They...

    Stethoscope - The Mega Thread

I use an older Littmann electronic because I need to hear well in the back of a moving ambulance...which is not unlike being inside a drum being driven down the road. I have an acoustic Littmann which is fine and an Omrom (spelling?) which is almost as good, but the electronic is what I go to...

    EMT Enhanced

Or logical perhaps. I see no other option given the reasoning I have seen. Hire only M.Ds or you are giving inadequate care. (Alternatively, I am right.)

    EMT Enhanced

Then logically, anything less than a physician board certified in emergency medicine should be on an ambulance, right? I agree. Paramedics provide inadequate patient care. Your inability to go to medical school is just an excuse for your inability to provide adequate medical care. To all who...

    EMT Enhanced

It is? My state knows what is best? It does? I can think of dozens of reasons for intermediate steps between EMT B and EMT P, not the least of which is location, cost of education, cost of a EMT P and so on. Me? I am an EMT B and as soon as my state gets its act together for a curriculum I am...

    Stethoscope - The Mega Thread

I have a tunable Littmann that is great, but not much better than the "best buy" they advise for like $25 or $30 (I forget the name). I have a Littmann electronic that is good for aging ears, but the battery always seems to die at an inopportune moment. Maybe a more recent electronic? I hear...

    Stethoscope - The Mega Thread

I have a great Littman electronic that I got for chump change, but it is so expensive to replace, I dread the thought of losing it. I am told that some of the Chinese electronic scopes are great for the money, like $100 on eBay. Somewhere there is a site devoted entirely to stethescope...

    Effective home-made occlusive dressing ideas

    New EMT-B applicant

PM me if interested in Berkshire county. I did a post elsewhere about those services I know about. Maybe you can search? You will need to have the certs in hand before applying anywhere unless you want cabulance work, which still needs rescuer CPR.

    Action Ambulance

I was offered work at County on a split shift, two hours in the morning, two hours in the late afternoon with a six hour layoff in between. I passed, but am going to have to try again this week. I may have to take it. Village trained me and offered me work during the course, now I cannot get...
