    IV nitro

Yeah, we carry it as nitro drip and nitro spray. Primarily use the nitro spray if unable to get access or something else. I prefer the nitro drip better than the spray, I feel like I have a lot more control over BP than with the spray. Only ever used it for STEMI's, but reading some recent...

how many hours worked a week?

Usually just 36hr/wk. I'll pick up an 12hr OT every once and a while. That along with a 7 college credit workload and studying for the MCAT.

overdose deaths - what drug are you seeing in your area

I may have been here only 6 months but I have yet to see any severe OD on anything. The only few I have seen have been on were "benign" OD out of a large addiction recovery facility in our PSA like sleep aids, and cough suppressants (for DMT high). It sounds like from other crews and state that...

    Minnesota Medics

Are there any part time jobs open in the Metro Area of Minneapolis/St. Paul? I've been looking around for a casual or part time position for about 7 months, had a few interviews but nothing is really showing up or following through. You guys have any leads? Willing to go about an hour...

    Percom online

I "toured" three other medic schools before choosing on PERCOM. One was local, the another 3 hours away and the other a hybrid online course. PERCOM had more emphasis on critical thinking and understanding what is happening in the body. All of the other schools didn't have near as much...

    Percom online

Recently graduated medic here. The clinical program is amazing, possibly the best available. I'm being completely honest here. No complaints whatsoever with the teaching. The administration of the program is awful. It's like they work 2 days a week and nobody knows what the hell they're...

Post the # your test stopped at, and if you Passed/Failed

74ish... Paramedic. First time. Wasn't easy per se...but all the questions they asked where stupid. My program's final was much harder than NREMT.

    Distance/hybrid Paramedic programs

Give them time. The program administrators are overworked and understaffed so they take foreverrrrrr to get things done on their side.

    Any 'younger' medics?

Paramedic about to test registry in a month. Turned 19 a week ago. HI YOUNG PEOPLE. I haven't seen you guys in action at all. All the old people judge me for my age haha.

    Distance/hybrid Paramedic programs

WAMedic, I'm doing my entire summer to finish all my hours here in town and up in Minneapolis, MN. You can do skills on the weekend, however I'd recommend you block them if you can and depending on where you are. You need to pass some testing clearances before you can start clinicals...

find your own internship for paramedic progam

Yes I have. Both my hospital rotations and my EMS rotations. Two tips. #1 Have some sort of connection to the facility. Don't just ask to go to a random place because odds are they won't feel bad about denying you. The level II center I choose I had volunteered at before and in general had...

    Distance/hybrid Paramedic programs

Great. Education is amazing. Very in depth and detailed. My instructor is a former lawyer turned EMS junkie, so he has a great view on the medicolegal sides of EMS and medicine. Lots of papers and lots of research. Which is what I like. :)

    Distance/hybrid Paramedic programs

PERCOM is currently accredited, and to my knowledge the only distance online program to do so.

    Distance/hybrid Paramedic programs

Mehh...not really. I mean I've volunteered at the hospital I'm doing my rotations at, so I didn't really have that great of an "in" there. I think the main thing was that I was local, which is the most important part. Doing EMS clinicals up in Minneapolis however was the hardest part, since...

I'm currently taking my paramedic through PERCOM. PM me for details.

    Community Paramedics revisited

Don't get me wrong, I think community healthcare, specifically community paramedicine is a great idea. A lot of money can be made and put where it counts (education, 911 response, actual emergencies, etc). Plus that extra education in basic pathologies and conditions can make a medic even better...

    no time for standard school?

You could look into PERCOM. They offer a program that is almost exclusively online, and it relatively cheap. Education is excellent, and very progressive- all the teachers are amazing as well. So you could work on it at home and while on the rig. PM me for more details. I'm currently...
