Yeah sorry kind of off topic. OP I also can be messaged with any questions. Not helpful with CA but I have a lot of varied CCT and flight experience and am happy to give insight if possible
Not a question but a patient on a long trip who kept google maps open and repeatedly remarked how much further we still had to go. Like in real time ...
Out of curiosity do you have a career plan to share lol? I am not super close but have no idea what I would do instead of flying and 911 which I can not see doing to 65 + . Probably will not make RN work so I am looking at teaching or maybe working in an ED for less money. Just curious ..,
To be clear I do not think RNs are better or worse clinicians, I just personally wish that I had become a RN and try to share that perspective for those that still have time to adjust career paths. But I have certainly enjoyed being a paramedic working in a variety of job types
I do not view my situation as mutable. You are likely correct that is naive to hope for a work environment where things like politics and religion are considered rude to discuss. I think that would be agreeable so that we could focus on the task at hand but again , unrealistic. I appreciate that...
I will say I have found flying in a remote area much more rewarding than in cities. When you have longer rotor (or fixed wing ) trips and even longer ground missions to underserved areas it makes your skillset more relevant. I still advocate getting your nursing degree to fly. It is far more...
Your post makes no sense. I did not say that the post should be deleted or the OP banned. I said that intentionally misgendering our colleagues should be considered unprofessional. Additonally I discussed earlier that in my personal experience hateful comments about transgender people in...
The tests are not particularly difficult, but they do presume familiarity with various critical care topics. I would reccomend avoiding them until you are ready to seriously consider flight jobs. In the meantime rely on texts meant for critical care RNs and advance practice providers. Medical...
It seems like this thread has outlived any point it ever had. Again I apologize for making overly broad comments in anger. I hope cis / straight folks consider that at least for my part I dont need to be liked or given any special treatment. I would just prefer that thread titles like this one...
This is not a productive comment. I was wrong earlier to make broad statements about EMS culture in my frustration. I conceded the point. Otherwise I have discussed my experience specifically. I do not appreciate your suggestion that I am lying.
You are a liberal, and the "comfort and sensibilities of conservatives don’t matter to me at all." So, why should the "comfort and sensibilities" of a liberal matter to any non-liberals at all? Do you not see the hypocrisy you are displaying?
I am not filing HR reports or trying to get anyone...
2) What schedule do you work (12’s, 24’s, 48’s, 96’s and the associated days of)?
12 hour shifts.
3) What is your crew rest policy?
No specific policy regarding rest on shift , but a minimum time mandated between leaving working and starting a new shift.
4) Do you use a crew resource...
Certainly. This thread contains support for Matt Walsh as a reasonable actor and a trans woman and fellow EMT being called a dude. I think there are a variety of biases on display. But again, I certainly come with mine.
That is a fair point, it was an unsupported generalization. That has been my personal experience and overall impression but I certainly have not studied the issue formally.
I have never met a trans person who confuses biological sex and gender identity including several medical professionals of various disciplines. For me it is quite simple. I will address you by whatever pronouns you prefer. If you say you are a man , a woman , neither etc I am just fine with...
I know EMS is typically a right wing profession but I find it quite unprofessional that the OP intentionally misgenders a fellow EMT in the title of this thread. I have always enjoyed reading through threads here and had an account years ago. Very sad to see basic civility is worth so little.
