    The (Long-Term) Finance Thread

Just asking, brother. Congratulations on the new job. I thought you were a FT firefighter gone bank teller. 😅 The 2nd part of my post was just general advice for everyone- not directed at you specifically.

    The (Long-Term) Finance Thread

Wait, what? Anyways, A couple of good free options are are www.clark.com and www.daveramsey.com for financial planning, advice, and resources on building wealth and getting out of debt. They both also have syndicated radio shows where the dole out free advice for all things consumer and...

    Globetrotting As a Paramedic

I had a good Twitter..@PSDmedic... but apparently it died also. 👎 @GrimmyGrimes, Regarding your four year plan- just to be up front with you, don’t waste you time focusing on anything current for a plan that far out. Things change in contracting and remote med faster than you can imagine...

    Wallet card/wall cert

I keep that thang on me. Never know when it’ll come in handy... like going on a COVID contract to make more than most medic salaries in just a few months.

    CCP-C vs FP-C

Lots of static here. If you want to fly get the FP-C, if not go the other route. It’s not a hard decision- it’s in the name. If that doesn’t do it for you then just take both.

    Wallet card/wall cert

Me? Yeah, I said I read it in the OP, brother. I was jw if they also sent a real one like the old times past... something a little more legit than something I print out and gets all chewed up over time. (Come to think of it, the ones they used to send used to get chewed up also, but a flimsy...

    Globetrotting As a Paramedic

True. I got denied one time because my total cholesterol was too high (not fasting). Went on a 7 day green tea diet and slid in under the radar on the next blood draw. And I’m not an unhealthy guy- you’ve met me. I’m normal BMI and work out all the time. Just have an undying love for burritos...

Where are all the studies on Hydroxychloroquine etc.? There is too much back and forth. I see the FDA statements. I’d like to see the studies. I’ll keep digging

Could EMS lead to being a PA

He’s back. Haha. He’s also very correct.

Could EMS lead to being a PA

I don’t think the PA organizations would go for it. They’d lobby against it. There are already a lot of EM PAs and EM is a part of PA training. If you want to got from medic to PA then put in the work and do it. Creating a separate role isn’t sensible IMO.

Anyone took a break from EMS?

If you haven’t taken a break from the ambulance are you even a medic?

The pandemic will end. It won’t be because we wore masks or didn’t or did go to a baseball game or didn’t. That’s all I’m saying.

    Coronavirus Discussion Thread

I’m not a denier of the virus. I’m a realist. I actually went to work in hard hit areas on contracts. I understand the severity in some places. I have treated Rona+ patients face to face. However, those communities are densely populated areas that have absolutely nothing in common with the...

    Coronavirus Discussion Thread

How long does this go on? Everyone is so scared. I haven’t seen any reliable data to indicate this is something to be so afraid of. The mortality rate is not that high, the scientific community flip flops daily on information, and the virus ultimately will take its course despite social...

I swabbed someone today who was simply seeing me for a med refill for some chronic neuropathic pain. She had an SpO2 of 90% for no known reason (historically >95%) and no history of or symptoms of cardiovascular illness. It’s provider discretion. I can swab anyone I want if they are willing...
