    TXA

Our protocol for TXA loading dose is 1g in 100 ml over 10 mins however in reality most slow IVP it over a few minutes. The over 10 mins is due to concern with transient hypotension possibly associated with rapid pushes in the CRASH trial however these patients were shocky and hypotension was...

    CCP-C vs FP-C

Many flight companies will accept CCP-C as an advanced certification however will only offer a stipend or pay incentive for FP-C. They will also reimburse you for FP-C if you take after you are hired.

Pay for overnight on fixed wings?

Some companies will pay either a reduced wage or non-OT accruable hours for those situations. In any case you should be receiving some type of compensation however usually not be your full hourly wage. It also can matter if you are off-duty or "on-call" during that time.

    The Gun Thread

I would not recommend a DI suppressed SBR. If I had to do it all over again i'd stick with a piston gun like a SCAR16, HK416, or Sig MCX.

    Coronavirus Discussion Thread

I am not sure that implication is silly at all. There are likely many COVID positive patients who die due to other factors that are counted as COVID deaths. Many hospitals have treated it as guilty until proven innocent. There is a distinction that needs to be made there.

    Helicopter Stuff and Things

A lot of people do not realize how significant the increase in rotor-wash can be with a dual engine aircraft. It is not uncommon for us to land at hospital helipads that station a 206/407 and blow FOD all over that is too close to the pad and we usually get the response "Well that never happens...

Could EMS lead to being a PA

It is a cool concept but I do not really see the need to create a separate pathway when a medic with a bachelors degree and apply to a traditional PA program and specialize in EM. This discussion is putting the cart before the horse when the general standards of EMS education needs to greatly...

    Coronavirus Discussion Thread

Merely pointing out that the official data from China is likely wildly inaccurate and to use it as an argument is laughable. Population density is a huge factor in viral spread. That is one of the reasons Italy and Spain were hit so hard as is why majorly populated cities in the US are hotspots...
