California/Nevada EMS Instructor Question

Howdy y'all; I had a question about what it takes to be a lead paramedic instructor in California. I don't know much about what colleges are looking for out there. Is it a degree? In-state experience? Out-of-state experience? Fire time?

Staying in Houston for the next few years to blow out a master's, but eventually will likely move.

I honestly never thought to look, but I was wondering more along the lines of what the schools want, not only what the state requires.

While I haven't really given it any thought and someone on here probably has more knowledge on the subject than me @DesertMedic66 I could imagine that a college or an institution would want experience obviously and more than likely a degree and maybe instructor training? Like a class for instructors?

Maybe places want a methodology class for adjunct instructors or lower level (EMT/AEMT). GA Requires a degree and 40 hour methodology class.

To be a lead instructor at my college they want at least a BA/BS, fire 1a/b/c instructor course or NAEMSE instructor course, current paramedic license in the state they are teaching in, and at least 4 years in the field as a medic. Previous teaching experience is preferred.

The pay to be the head of the department is very very good. Our current department head made around $130,000 in 2016.

Is Fire Science a mandatory thing or is it more of a "hold instructor certification in" thing? I've got a BS in education with a specialization in adult education and workforce development and a BA in healthcare administration.

It's purely just for an instructor certification. Also forgot to mention that it is preferred if you hold instructor certs in the alphabet classes (BLS, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS/ITLS).
