    Global Rescue in Bangkok

Don't know about the pay. I know the problem they are having filling the position is finding someone with extensive world travel. They've had to many people go over for only a few months before returning to the US, because they couldn't adjust. They were very polite when I talked with them. Best...

That's kind of cool. I didn't want it, but now I think I have to have it. Thanks

    NGHA Saudi Arabia

Don't know if they will hire and EMT. A Paramedic is around 60,000 per year + plus all expenses other an food and car if you want one. They require at lest 2 years as a medic.

    Watch with time stamp

Ya it's called a LifePak 12 or 15. Just kidding never heard of a watch that will allow time stamps. Cool idea.

    What is your transition plan?

In KY we have to take a 40 or 60 (no sure which) hour course or retest your NREMT. I'm not one to wait and wasn't able to find a course so I just retested my NREMT. It was a lot easier than sitting through class anyway.

5.11 Tactical Responder BLS 2000 Bag

I use the 5.11 Responder 84 ALS Backpack and love it. It's my carry all and works great for a first in bag.

    Bad Partners

Amen, couldn't have said it better myself!!! As we all know EMS in the fish bowl (street) is different than in the class room, but I don't like to assume the worst in people. I like to assume ever new EMS has worked hard, passed their class and are competent EMT's until proven other wise...

    100% Directionless Thread

Thanks for the information. I understand the actual point of the medication and the reason for the check at 0100am was because he was having issues with infection. I was being facetious, but I guess that was lost in translation.

    100% Directionless Thread

Two questions 1. Why is a 96 year old male taking viagra? (Hope I'm still sexually active at that age.) 2. What's the nursing home staff doing at 0100 hrs to discover that his penis is swollen?

    50,000+ pop w/ volunteer services

I've heard of several department in South Carolina that run a combined department. Colleton County Fire & Rescue, Jasper County Fire & Rescue and Horry County Fire & Rescue to name a few. I know that most of the volunteers are for the fire side only and the ambulances are staffed by full or part...

    PA vs. Med School

Everyone has protocols to work under, but that doesn't mean we're not treating our patients. We are the one's deciding the treatment plan to following and which parts of the protocol we use and which ones not to and I'm differently not above asking for advised from anyone while in a difficult...

    Emergencies or Transport

If you want to use your skills 911 is the way to go. I've only done a few IFT (Literally maybe 5 or 6 in 15 years) and there's nothing to them. Everything is already done for you. They have IV's, intubated or drips already going and you just monitor them. 911 you actually have to treat and...

Someone help me: Ambulance or ER Job?!

Is the ambulance service 911? If so go for it. Other wise I would work in the ER before working for a transport service. Just FYI I've never worked for a service other than 911. This is just from my observations over the last 15 years.
