Yes. Emergency Medical Responder will be one level above them, as they will have First Responder versus EMR which is an actual Paramedic level (as in I can work on Ambulances)... Yes I suppose if there is an emergency I will announce myself :) Thanks for your help guys!!!

Hi there,
I was curious, do you guys tell Flight Attendants prior to boarding the aircraft, or do you wait and if there is an emergency, announce yourself? I am flying for the first time as an EMR (I have flown before, but not since my cert.) and I am curious if I should announce myself prior...
Hi everyone, I was looking for a cheap First Aid backpack, empty and not very obvious. Everyone I has found is like bright orange, and I was looking for something maybe black. It need to have equipment loops (the elastic things in truama kits that hold your scissors etc.) anyone know of anything...
I am from BC, Canada. I am an EMR and I am applying to Coast Guard College... I wanna become the captain of a ship eventually... We shall see what happens I suppose. Right now I am just trying to earn a living and figure out what I wanna do for sure. Humboldt? Where's that? My sister lives in...
Oh I see! That's really cool. I could never manage a double - just because of the workload. Where do you go to school?I love California! Especially the Bay Area. It's beautiful down there.
Hey Anna! Welcome to the site, your from Berkeley? I was just down in Berkeley a couple of months ago! It's awesome there, we went to the University and saw the Botero exhibition and all the protesting! It was really great. Spent a day down in San Fran and loved it! Really a great experience and...
Yeah, it's pretty much the same thing with everyone. the money thing isn't a concern, because like I said, I get free air, so I just had to save up for the one time equipment, I think the hardest part is the time - it is a very time consuming sport eh?
Yeah if it gets picked up by customs your kind of screwed, but your fine as long as it goes through. You would just have to hide it if you got pulled over etc. I don't know what the penalties are in the States for that kind of thing, but if it is like most other things, it will be pretty severe...
BC Ambulance uses in computer maps. I believe they are shared between us and the FD but I couldn't be sure. I wouldn't know who made them though. They are your basic road maps with grids on them and pop-up points of interest (Gas, food, hospitals, FDs, PDs, our other Stations etc).
It's a...
Yes, I certainly wish it was less expensive. I have landed myself a deal with the local dive shop that I go out with them on charters and just help out, I get a free charter and air, and I meet people that are just getting into diving and looking for new partners in my area. It's a great deal!

You (the person that is accused, not you referring to anyone in the forum aha) falsified certifications and put every patient you came into contact with's life in danger. It's the same as me (an EMR) attempting to start an IV in a patient, which I HAVE NO ability to do, but worse...
It's certainly not a cheap sport, especially on most EMS salaries. Well, if I ever get my instructors certification (Something I have been looking towards for a while) your more than welcome to come up and come diving. Mind you Colorado is a ways away from BC haha!
That is true in most major cities and with paid departments however with Volly departments it is a rarity. Even Vancouver FD isn't encrypted but is digital which you need a better scanner for anyway. So anyway, if you are in a small town with paid or volly you are more than likely ok with the...
