Piranah, I feel you. I am 18 also but an EMT. My best friend is 19 and in medic school right now. Just like Doogie Howser M.D.-- you will have a DEA-number, or the capacity to give narcotics before legally being able to drink beer!
Maybe this topic should be a poll...
Good Luck!

Good luck finding a job if you are under 21. Most have to get waivers for someone under the age of 21......

p.s. Medics do not get DEA numbers... only those that can prescribe can obtain them.

Good luck!

we don't get DEA numbers. We can not prescribe medications.

I got my start in EMS at 15 in Alaska as an Emergency Trauma Technician then my EMT at 18 here in Arkansas. I am a Paramedic now and have been one for almost two years and I am 24. Rid I agree about how hard it is to find an EMS job under 21. Good luck with that.
