I'm trying to find a book for higher level clinical assessment. Does anyone have any ideas?

Such as those performed by mid-levels?

Or just a good book on physical assessment way above and beyond what the typical paramedic gets. Mid level or physician Level is good. Critical care or emergency a plus

The standard text I've always seen is Bates' guide to physical exam or there's another one by two Australians, or an Australian and a Kiwi, I think it's called Moore's.

I think more knowledge is always good however I add the following: without an in-depth understanding of the pathology behind some of the more abstract signs we may find it is probably unlikely to be clinically significant especially when considering the average exposure to such patients is likely to be low.

For example: you can do a very detailed assessment of the nervous system and if you know what each area of the brain controls then you may be able to work out where in the brain somebody has had a stroke. However, such information is objectively pointless because they're going to get a CT scan anyway.

Acute stroke is a largely clinical diagnosis. The scan is to rule out hemorrhage.

I don't have any direct recommendations. I have also been looking for some "higher level" books in physiology and pathology for example. I live about 10 minutes from the medical school. I just walked into their campus bookshop and at looked at what they were using, then compared and contrasted on amazon and read the user reviews.
