I've got 10 hours left on this shift, looking for some good reads to pass the time. Any helpful articles about meds, vents, MI's, or whatever you found informative tucked away worth sharing?

If you're looking for a high-level recommendation, I'd say check out PHEC.

A little late to the party, I like the AMJ. Still waiting on my scrip to arrive:rolleyes:

A good podcast or two worth digging up are Scott Weingart's EmCrit, and Eric Bauer's
FlightBridgeEd.

Eric's book on prehospital ventilator management is also an excellent read in a simple to follow and fairly fun and approachable way for any paramedic to be.

Hope these help ya.

Oh, a book that I like a lot is "Avoiding Common Pre-Hospital Errors", if you're looking for something a tad more book-like.

So not exactly an article, but a nifty app I recently discovered is the "Airway EX" app.

It's a free app complete with tutorials, scenarios, practice drills, and cases aimed at (fiber optic) VL.

I'm still getting the hang of it, but not a bad way to practice hand-eye coordination on your downtime.

And I've managed to burn an hour sitting in station.
I just wish that more were unlocked!

I know it's not an article, but Marino's "The ICU Book" is an awesome resource. Easy to read, but super informative. It also comes with an ebook that updates periodically.

A lot of it doesn't pertain to EMS, but some of it definitely does. Either way, awesome book.

That's where I'm at.

The soccer mini game is my nemesis.
