ATC EMS is one year full time experience for Basics.
You could do part time with AMR doing events. They work all of UTs games.
Or try and get in at an ER or ICU. Work nights and still have time for school.

Study study study. Start using the words while speaking with classmates. You'll need to know these terms not only for NREMT but also around the hospital setting to not sound like a dumb dumb.
I think in the instance of OP and the NREMT-basic this is accurate. Too many students are using it as a substitute for studying. The practice web sites are easier IMO than the actual NREMT. The only sure fire way to pass is to read the book and learn the material.

There's a little BLS flip notebook available online with massive amounts of info in it. When i had some spare time I would bust it out and read/reread/read/reread it, Best $8 i ever spent
Not starting Medic school for at least a year but I got a couple books on pharmacology and a current Mosby's. Better to start cramming terms and dosages now than doing it all later. I did this for EMT school and sailed right through.
