A man set himself ablaze in front of the White House Monday and was taken by paramedics to a hospital for treatment, the Secret Service said.

The man's identity was not known, nor the reason for his actions, but witnesses said he appeared to have graying hair and his hand was seen to be on fire.

An unconfirmed report said the man suffered burns to 30 percent of his body.

many moons ago.. we had a guy pour gas over himself and then hit a match... well the only thing not burnt was the balls of his feet.. from were he was standing.. if i remember right it was 2 days before they said he was dead... nothing would stick to him.. to get a good reading... if ya touched his chest.. it it made a very weird sound.. as it was all charcoal.. after 2 days of not getting a heart beat in any way the burn unit called it...
