Greetings, I just moved to tx from fl where I have been working as an EMT-B. In tx they use EMT-I and I am going to start the program this week. However, the school that I am going to you simply test to cert as EMT-I halfway through the medic program. Currently though there are only a few students and they are not sure if they are going to go all the way through the to paramedic, does anyone have any info on programs from I to P

I haven't heard about or seen any EMT-I to Paramedic programs. Is there any reason why you can't continue with the class your in and go all the way to Paramedic?

The program I've seen, if you're an I, you get to skip those classes when the medic students go over them.

I think it was Hill Colleges website that explained how they did it.

you're going to start the EMT I program next week in florida? Florida only trains and utilizes basics and medics

Yeah the reason that I may not be able to go on is because the program may not have enough that want to go on into the paramedic portion as I do.

I just finished the I-P program at Fayetteville Technical Community College Continuing Ed. GREAT PROGRAM! I went in as a Basic and came out a Paramedic.

The course included ITLS, PALS, ACLS, & HazMAT certifications. Also NR skills testing was free.

Best of all...it was only $120 for the entire 8 month course. They just raised the price to $175 for the course, but still it is a GOOD DEAL!

They are experimenting with an online I-P course this fall which looks to be promising.
