Hi,

I'm looking into getting EMT-B certified, but don't really want to wait until summer term starts. Does anyone know of courses that are not aligned with spring/summer term boundaries? I'm in the Boston area.

Cheers,
Chris

Wow! You can't wait a whole month?

Speed kills.

I sense FAIL.

AJ, this is just the type of person who is creating the market for the two week bootcamps. Only those in EMS are two impatient to wait the three months of class at a community college to get certified.

God only knows how much it sucks to be a physician. 8 years of school and than another 4 of residency, and another 3 in a fellowship many times? You mean you cannot do it in a year or something?

I thought my class was fast at 3 months.

The Mass Dept. Of Health Office of Emergency Medical Services publishes a list of all approved course "providers" on their website, visible at

http://www.mass.gov/?pageID=eohhs2terminal&L=5&L0=Home&L1=Provider&L2=Certification%2c+Licensure%2c+and+Registration&L3=Programs&L4=EMT+Training+Institution+Accreditation&sid=Eeohhs2&b=terminalcontent&f=dph_emergency_services_p_emt_training_institutio ns&csid=Eeohhs2

My first suggestion would be to look into EMS Academy, in Quincy, MA. Take a look at emsacademy.biz

Northeastern Univ has classes in Boston and Burlington and sometimes has their courses on a strange schedule. Also consider looking into BU's classes.

Good Luck!

I highly suggest NEEMSI (http://neemsi/). They are CAAHEP accredited, MA OEMS accredited and have excellent instruction and administration. They are post-secondary licensed and part of the Elliot Hospital (a lvl 1 trauma center).

It's a bit of a drive from Boston, 55 miles each way. I went there for my Intermediate and don't regret it for a minute.
